HOW TO GET FREE COFFEE & TEA EVERY DAY IN THE UK
Having scoured the UK high street for offers, we have come up with this ultimate list so you can get free coffee, tea, hot chocolate and even something nice to eat. If you know of any others, please let us know in the comments below.
Like the Priority mobile app for O2 customers, the Wuntu mobile app offers users of the Three mobile network freebies and discounts every week.
All you need to do is sign up to Wuntu from your Three mobile phone and keep an eye out for freebies. We have seen free drinks from Costa Coffee quite regularly, so keep checking and grab yourself a free drink when they are available.
Checkout our guides to find your nearest Costa Coffee shop or drive thru, or take a look at their Autumn menu.
Although the vast majority of their stores are in London, you can still find Prets outside of the capital. Here's how to get free Pret a Manger coffee.
Get a free coffee from a Pret barista
You may have heard the rumours that Pret baristas are allowed to give out free coffees to whomever they like. We're here to tell you that it's more than just a rumour: it's official Pret policy.
We've previously got in touch with Pret and they confirmed that this initiative, known as 'random acts of kindness', allows their staff the freedom to give a customer something on the house. That could be free coffee, free cake or free anything (as long as it's on the Pret menu, of course).
There's no rhyme or reason as to who gets the free stuff. However, the consensus seems to be that regular customers, as well as those who are polite and friendly, are most likely to get a free Pret coffee.
Half-price for your first month of the Pret coffee subscription
Note: This tip won't get you entirely free coffee, but it will help you save money if you regularly go to Pret.
The coffee aficionados among you may already be aware that Pret has a subscription service whereby you can get up to five drinks a day, every day, for £30 a month. This works out at 155 drinks in a 31-day month. And that's why most people regard the subscription as giving you access to 'unlimited' coffee.
When you sign up for the coffee subscription, the first month is half-price (£15). This means that, once you've bought £15 worth of coffee from Pret, the rest of the coffees that month will effectively be free.
Just make sure you cancel before the first month is up, or it'll automatically renew and you'll be charged £30.
Before you pop into your local branch and have them misspell your name on your cup, make sure you use one of these tips to get free Starbucks coffee.
Use Starbucks Rewards
Starbucks isn't alone in having a loyalty card scheme, but its reward card is certainly a little different to the others we've featured so far.
The main thing to point out is that you'll need to load money onto the card in order to use it and collect Stars. That puts a lot of pressure on you to shop at Starbucks and could lead to you wasting money, so we'd recommend only topping up the amount you intend to spend.
Nonetheless, the chance is there to get coffee for free, so it's not without its redeeming qualities. You need 150 Stars to get a free drink, and you'll earn three Stars for every £1 spent. If we assume a coffee costs about £3, you'll need to buy 15–20 hot drinks to get one for free. Not quite as generous as Costa or Caffè Nero's loyalty schemes, but better than nothing.
Get a free coffee on your birthday
If and when you've signed up for Starbucks Rewards, you'll notice that another big way in which it differs from other loyalty schemes is the fact that it has tiers.
Accumulate 450 stars and you'll be admitted into the Gold Level of membership. Being a Gold member gets you a free drink on your birthday.
Get unlimited free refills of filter coffee
Reckon you'll be spending a good few hours in Starbucks, perhaps writing an essay away from the distractions of your bedroom? Then this is the tip for you.
At participating stores, if you buy a filter coffee (which usually costs a couple of pounds), you might be able to get unlimited free refills as a Starbucks member. Check in the store before buying the coffee to see if this deal is available.
It's no great surprise that this is one of our top hacks for getting free Starbucks.

Collect points on the MyMcDonald's Rewards app
In the past, you were able to collect McCafé stickers – six of them would grant you a free hot drink. At the time, it was one of our favourite McDonald's hacks. But things have changed with the new MyMcDonald's Rewards app.
You can now collect points on all your McDonald's purchases. Every 1p you spend is worth one point. There are also bonus points up for grabs when buying certain items. To get a free hot drink from McDonald's, you'll need to collect 1,500 points – which is equal to spending £15.
If you know of anywhere else which offers free coffee, tea or other drinks, please let us know in the comments below and we will add them to the article so others can enjoy.
